Welcome to VALID!
Validating someone means recognizing that their experience is real. It means acknowledging that they deserve to be heard and taken seriously. It means approaching their condition with curiosity rather than dismissing it by default.
Because invisible doesn't mean imaginary.
VALID is an independent awareness initiative helping patients, families, and healthcare professionals better understand hEDS, HSD, and invisible conditions.
For years, my daughter lived with debilitating symptoms while test after test came back normal.
The physical symptoms were difficult. Not being believed was often harder.
That's why I created VALID. To me, validating someone means:
Clear, accessible information about symptoms, validation, and navigating care with invisible conditions.
